- Be honest with a trusted friend. Say: 'My faith feels dry.' Vulnerability invites accountability and prayer.
The Rut Is Not the End
Every person of deep faith has gone through dry seasons. The mystics called it the "dark night of the soul." The psalmists wrote entire chapters about spiritual drought. You're in good company. The people who emerge from ruts with deeper faith aren't the ones who never experienced dryness—they're the ones who kept showing up when everything felt dry.
God doesn't waste ruts. He uses them to strip away the superficial and rebuild your faith on something more solid than feelings. When the fire returns—and it will—it will burn on a foundation that feelings alone could never build.
